College Preparation
Literacy Council of Tyler has an Intensive College Readiness Program that helps GED grads transition successfully to college. This program is geared toward students who, although they have passed their GED are still not at a college level in one or more areas. The classes are conducted on the Tyler Junior College campus to help students become familiar with the campus and college culture. This intensive program has been very successful, enabling these students to skip the remedial college classes they would have had to take and to be successful in college.
